A summer's day, Romney Marsh
I enjoyed painting a picturesque view on the Romney Marsh near Appledore, Kent yesterday. The weather was sunny and occasionally breezy - some of the gusts were so strong they lifted my palette off my easel and required a "hang on to everything" approach. I also had a plague of flies descend upon me but thankfully a further gust of strong wind dispersed them.
The clouds were quite spectacular - and a pair of swans came into my view on the dyke fairly early and remained on the water ahead of me the whole afternoon, swimming around each other and preening - quite lovely!
