Bodiam Valley after November rain
With a sunny and dry afternoon, I ventured down to the Bodiam Valley and was shocked to see the River Rother has flooded its banks again - after a relatively short spell of heavy rain! The sports field once again is a beautiful lake.
With the kind permission of the landlord, I stood in The Castle Inn garden to paint this view and while painting I saw their bonfire "creation" starting to take shape beside me. They have a different design each year - and the finished article will not be revealed until the bonfire and fireworks party next Friday 14th - worth a visit if you are local (I hope it stays dry for them!).
