I drove down to Camber yesterday thinking 'it's mid-week, the schools have not yet broken up for their summer holidays - it will be fairly quiet down there'. I was so wrong. The main car park on the beach even opened up its overflow car park - busy, busy, busy! At £12 for the day, I did not stop there. Luckily I found a reasonably priced place to park, then I had the walk to and up to the top of the dunes. It was great exercise - walking uphill on soft sand whilst carrying an easel and a rucksack! The view was worth it though and although there was a really strong breeze yesterday, the sun was shining and the place was full of life - families enjoying summer on the beach, swimmers, dinghies, kites (the toy variety!) and seagulls swooping across the sky.
