Winter oak, Sissinghurst Lake

I got around to taking a photo this morning of my painting completed on Wednesday when I drove to Sissinghurst Castle to paint a view beside their lake. I saw the wonderful old oak tree beside the water with the sun hitting the dry reeds behind and it immediately captured me.

I find trees without leaves so beautiful and I really enjoyed studying it and trying to capture the amazing colours and twists and turns of the bark and branches.

Oil on board, 20 x 30 cm.

Sold.
